To help you get
started preparing for your first 100 miler or even if you've
already done several here are a few links!
Here are some words of inspiration,
provided by Julie Suhr: "It just is not that tough. Bob did it as his
first ever ride at age 58. We have a friend in Montana who has
done 2 endurance rides in his life. The Tevis when he
was 70 years old and then the Tevis again at 76. I got
98 1/2 miles at age 80 (and I know what went wrong, I should
have completed but for some crazy stuff that went on) so
anybody with a little bit of determination and doing their
homework can do it. It is not that big a deal. I have
done 63 100 mile rides and I really am a klutz.
People would be amazed at the extent they can push their
limits beyond what they ever thought possible. It is
just they have never tried. Tell them to just do it, and
if they fail, that is good because then they can go back
smarter and wiser the next year and the victory will be
greater because they failed the year
before."
