What should I know about Ferrets?
I am planning on buying a Ferret as a pet. I have researched Wikipedia and a pet site specializing on Ferrets. I understand the basics, like Ferret proofing your home and I understand their diet, water, etc. But I still have a few questions that I have not answered yet. Some are the questions are…. Can a Ferret wear a flee collar? Is there a special type of Ferret toothbrush that I can buy? Can a Ferret eat cooked and cleaned Chicken or Chicken Breast? Does a type of food exist that freshens Ferret’s breathe? Can you always keep a harness on your Ferret?
Please answer all of the questions above in a detailed and understandable manner, thank you. 
There’s a book out called Ferret For Dummies, it’s got all the basics in you’ll need.
NO to flea collars, they’re toxic and not sized for ferrets. No on the toothbrushes, but you can use gauze wrapped around your finger and scruff them and just brush the side teeth. Yes on the chicken, but it’s not a full diet. There’s sites online that tell how to make ‘duck soup’ for ferrets. No on the fresh breath. They can get their claws caught in the harness if it’s on 24/7, which is not good.
You also need a vet who’s trained in ferrets, they’re considered exotic.
