Canary Islands to host 65 concerts in January-March 2008

If you like classical music and good weather, do not miss the 24th edition of the Festival Canary Islands Music. The eight-week festival begins Jan. 10 and runs until March 1, 2008. Truly a dream vacation of a classical music lover.

The Auditorio Alfredo Kraus, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria will host the first of 65 concerts, January 10, 2008. The first concert of the festival will consist of No. 3 Beethoven Concerto for piano and orchestra, conducted by Pedro Halffter and executed by the Philharmonic Orchestra of Gran Canaria with the Boys Choir Philharmonic Orchestra of Gran Canaria (CGO).

Of course, the festival is not centralized on one island. In fact, eight of the Canary Islands will host shows during the festival of eight weeks. Small islands Lanzarote, La Palma, Fuerteventura, La Gomera and El Hierro will be the site of twenty-two performance. Even La Graciosa, the smallest of the Canary Islands, will host a performance of Beethoven January 12.

Performance in the Music Festival 24th annual meeting of the Canary Islands are:

* The four-time winner Grammy Cecilia Bartoli, January 2 and February 31.
* Of Fame Riccardo Muti will lead the Philharmonia Orchestra London World in four performances February 25 to 28.
* Cadaqués Orchestra, conducted by Sir Neville Marriner with the Chorus of Women of the Philharmonic Orchestra of Gran Canaria and Ainhoa Arteta, February 27 – 29.
* Symphony Orchestra Holland, sent in January Yakov Kreizberg 17 to 20.
* The Budapest Festival Orchestra, conducted by Ivan Fischer conducted in 24 to 27.
* Symphony Orchestra Swedish Radio, conducted by Daniel Harding, January 28 to February 2.
* The Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Sakari Oramo, February 12 – 15.

Since mid of the 1960s, the Canary Islands have been requested holiday destination. Single Located 62 miles off the African coast in the Atlantic, the islands offer beautiful volcanic landscapes, beaches and water sports. The festival will include nearly all the islands of Tenerife, the largest Canary La Graciosa, the smallest island. The fourth biggest island of Lanzarote, named for its color Mountains red, will host several upcoming festival. Lanzarote is known for its picturesque volcanic landscape. Perhaps equally well known for its futuristic and developing wildlife control.

Lanzarote is home to more than 100,000 people and has its own international airport. The island depends on tourism and agriculture to maintain its economy. Millions of visitors each year enjoy the black sand beaches and the unique experience that can only island offers.

The 24th Festival of Music Annual permits Lanzarote Canary Islands and other islands to enhance their beauty for lovers of classical music coming together for the festival. The beautiful and extensive mountain beaches are a wonderful place for a festival so long.
