Help! Horse spooks when I use a chain lead!?
I have a 1 year old (will be two in march) Belgian/QH/paint cross. She is really sweet and doesn’t spook at much. The only problem with her is that I can’t use a lead with a chain on her because she gets really scared if I pull on it the slightest bit. This causes a huge problem for me because I plan to show her in the Summer and the show halters that I have seen all come with leads the have chains. Is there any way that I can get her used to the chain so that she doesn’t freak out at shows? Or is there any place where I can buy a Show Halter with a lead without a chain? Yeah, Sid has the same problem, remember when we were practacing together and i tried it, he stood there and looked at me with the wierdest look on his face as if to say: “mommy? What are you doing?” lol. But just get a leather lead without the chain. I have found some. We so need to go shopping together to get the lead, I am pretty sure I know where to get them, but I have seen them!
