How can English leather be this cheap?

Every country produces many different grades of leather. We may associate “English Leather” with higher quality but there are companies in England churning out low quality products just like there are everywhere else.
It doesn’t look “fake” to me, but it does look to be of low quality. It appears to be stiff and the edges are very straight, not a problem with high grade leather but if it’s stiff the edges will feel sharp. It will probably also be pretty difficult to buckle.
If you are looking for a backup or short term bridle the price is great but I wouldn’t expect to get a lot of wear out of it. If you do decide to buy it be careful not to over oil it to try and soften it up, you can rot the stitching that way.
