I have a Tipperary. It is always the Tipperary, where supposedly available, were tested to demonstrate Charles Owen offer the most protection (even if both pass the same standards). The Tipperary is much more comfortable (but because it is flexible, is supposed to be less protection that the most rigid and horribly uncomfortable Charles Owen. Tipperary are the choice of most riders. Although still popular with Eventers, see Eventers increasingly using Charles Owen. I never get one from eBay, unless a large shopping tactic has just recovered from a tack shop, and you can try it!
