I had a gelding who drowned several times and loved these treats! They are very soft and a little texture to they. Some horses do not like the taste of molasses, so I prefer to use honey. 1 cup shredded carrots 1 cup grated apple 2 tablespoons of soup. Maize (or vegetables) oil 1 / 4 cup molasses (or honey) 1 tsp. 1 cup salt 1 cup rolled oats Combine flour, grated carrot, grated apple, corn oil and molasses (or honey) in a bowl and mix well. Slowly Once in salt, oats and flour and continue mixing. Remove the dough (I prefer balls Shap) by tablespoons two inches apart on a sheet of greased squab. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes or until lightly browned.
