Is 29 lbs. considered heavy for a mtb?
My specialized 09 rockhopper weights 29bs, i bought the cheapest one, but made some changes..(derailleurs, wheels, tires, seat post, handlebar, seat…)
this is my first bike ever
i weight 110 lbs (don’t know if that matters at all)
29 pounds is a very reasonable weight… I have around a 32lb bike and I’m fine with it.
If you’re looking for jumps you should be fine. If you’re on road then get thinner tires… If you desire to get thin ones I suggest to stay away from dirt jumps and loose gravel since it WILL slip.
