Can I replace the lenses in my cheap sunglasses with non RX safety lenses?
I need to have safety glasses for work but they never fit me right and the way that normal safety glasses are shaped tend to make me dizzy. I have a pair of favorite sunglasses that I want to replace the lenses with safety lenses. Walmart told me I needed a current RX even though I told them it would be non RX lenses. Does anyone else do this? Can it be done??
Safety glasses, to be legal have to have a safety approved frame also.
There are legal standards that the frame has to meet.
Putting safety lenses into a regular frame doesn’t make them safety glasses.
Your company wouldn’t allow you to wear them anyway. They could be sued big time if an accident happened to you…and the compensation board wouldn’t cover you either.
