What is the difference between an undercoat rake, a Furminator and a shedding blade?
Obviously, I know there are differences in appearance and price. I’m asking what the differences are in performance. Do they all do basically the same thing?
My dog is part German Shepherd, part Doberman, and part Mystery Mutt (exceptionally adorable, at least in my eyes).
I already have a shedding blade, as well as a couple types of pin brushes, a flea comb, and a slicker brush.
Do you think I need to buy any other types of grooming tools (not including nail care)? Thanks for the feedback.
I have two GSD’s and a Golden Retriever, all thick coated breeds. The ‘Furminator’ did little for us. The rake (pulls up the undercoat in thick coated dogs), slicker brush (cleans up the loosened fur) and shedding blade (catches what is left over on top) are the ones we use. I always brush outside too otherwise you end up with a mess on the floor.
