What is the Difference between a Figure 8 nose band and a flash ?
My Horse Bolts When Out in open Space and after Jumps im just wondering if the figure 8 Nose Band Will Give me more control ?And what the difference between a figure 8 nose band and a flash
Thanks For Your Help
Also Do u think a kimberwick bit Would Be Suitable ? For A Bolting Horse
He Is A Bolter He Takes of for no reason no one will ride him as he throws them off He is not sore i have had lessons and nothing has changed his not to bad when in dressage but soon as he canters he bolts
Does he bolt or does he tank off with you? These are very different and a true bolter won’t be helped by any type of bit or nose band.
Where does his head go when he tanks off? Up , Down or out in front?
You need to find the reason he can get away so you can use a bit that addresses those issues but a couple of lessons with someone used to a forward going horse would probably be a good start.
Edit;_
He is not a bolter – he tanks off. A true bolter does it any time and not just when excited. When bolting a horse becomes oblivious to the rider and is literally in a blind panic.
If your instructor doesn’t know the difference it may be time to find a new instructor.
