Need help converting a mountain bike to a single / three speed!?

I want to run faster than triple plate and one in the rear. Should I buy a 1 / 8 "or 3 / 32" freewheel as my rear wheel? Need to know about anything about gear ratios? Does anyone know something about the chain tensioner Paul Melvin? It seems that the best option for the chain tensioner in this particular configuration. Any help would be great … thanks!
