Is It Possible to Make a Profit From Harness Racing Systems
Harness racing systems offer some hope of making a profit from betting on trotters and pacers. Like any gambling system, however, there is a lot of risk and no guarantee of reward. Therefore, I suggest you never ever risk more than you can afford to lose when betting on horses. The method you use to pick winners will, of course, have a great influence on whether or not you can make money betting on horses.
A lot of horse players use a system. Sometimes it is something they bought or were told about and other times it is a method of handicapping the races that they thought up for themselves. No matter what method or system you use, the bottom line is always making a profit because if you don’t, your bank roll will soon disappear and you’ll be out of the game.
That’s why, whenever anyone asks if he or she can really make money wagering on races, I always mention money management. I don’t care what method or handicapping system you use, if good money management isn’t a part of it, you are bound to fail. Therefore, if you are going to make money from a harness racing handicapping system, it better have a way to incorporate good money management or have money management built into it.
In my opinion, if you have the right money management skills and the discipline and patience it takes to wait for the right situations, it is possible to make money from almost any form of gambling, with a few notable exceptions such as lotteries. The problem isn’t that systems don’t work, it is that people who like to gamble on horse races want faster action and don’t want to patiently wait on the sidelines. That is human nature.
There is also the problem of using the system or implementing it. No system will show a consistent, long term profit right out of the box. If anyone tries to sell you one with that promise, they’re not being honest. You have to tweak a system to suit your own personality, local tracks, etc. If anyone had a system that worked automatically, they’d use it themselves and make a fortune. A good harness racing system will help you to develop handicapping skills and that is the real value of a system.
