Can I patch a inner tube with a piece of old inner tube and some glue?
I just bought a new dirt bike tube and accidentaly put a hole in it with the tire iron putting it in. I know that they have patch kits out there, but I’m too cheap to buy one unless at last resort. I figure I already have enough rubber from an old tube to cut out a patch, and glue it on. I’m wondering if this will work good, and if so, what type of glue would I want to use?
Don’t try it. The local auto parts store or Walmart (in the Bicycle section) should have a patch kit. The kits have a patches and rubber glue. Use a little sandpaper to rough up the area before applying the glue and patch, then run a roller over the patch to really get it stuck down good.
