How do you replace the zipper in leather pants? Is it hard to do?

I need to replace the zipper in my leather pants. I wanted to have a leather seamstress do it but I’m short on cash. I’m wondering if I should try to do it myself.

Pretty hard to do, unless you have a special zipper foot for your sewing machine. Even then, it may not last. I’d recommend taking your pants to an alterations shop or a dry cleaners that does alterations. NOTE: it’s not cheap, but it will last better than a DIY fix.
